People were checking off gift lists on Friday just a few days before Christmas.
The Maria Luisa Boutique on South Broadway in Nyack stays open longer, wraps things that customers buy, and puts items on display together as gift ideas.
Owner Maria Luisa Whittingham appreciates every purchase that ends up as a present.
"It means a lot. It really does. I'm thankful. I thank all our customers for choosing us. There's so many choices,” Whittingham says.
The National Retail Federation expects 142 million people to shop on Super Saturday, which is the last Saturday before Christmas.
That number is up from the 126 million people in 2017 which was the last time Dec. 23 was on a Saturday.
