K-9 Galli, the latest K-9 addition to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department, and his partner are celebrating their inaugural successful rescue mission.
K-9 Galli's skills were put to the test when an elderly woman was reported missing in the Village of Suffern last Wednesday.
Deploying a scent track that was approximately one-third of a mile in length and nearly eight hours old, K-9 Galli managed to locate the woman. She had fallen in the nearby woods just 10 hours after her disappearance was reported.
The accomplishment of K-9 Galli highlights the effectiveness and importance of these specially trained dogs in search-and-rescue efforts.
