The Newburgh Enlarged City School District broke ground Wednesday on a new career and technical education building.
The 138,000-square-foot building will be behind Newburgh Free Academy’s main campus off Fullerton Avenue.
It will offer 20 career and technical education programs for district high school students including art design, automotive tech, engineering and criminal justice.
District Superintendent Jackielyn Campbell-Manning says the programs will offer “endless possibilities, where dreams come true and careers can be recognized as future, amazing opportunities for our scholars and community.”
The $75 million bond project was approved by voters in 2019.
School officials say the building should be ready for students in 2026.
