Police in Orange County announced new arrests Thursday in the case of a taxi cab driver killed on duty last week in Newburgh.
Newburgh police say eight people are under arrest in connection to the death of Jorge Arbayza.
That group was allegedly arrested with three loaded firearms and 330 grams of PCP after a search warrant at 355 Liberty St. on Wednesday.
Arbayza's brother, Mario, says their family is devastated by the killing, when his brother was gunned down on duty last Thursday in his driver's seat.
The group arrested face weapons and narcotics charges, but not for the 51-year-old Peruvian immigrant's death.
His family and police have upped the reward, and are now offering $20,000 for information leading to the gunman's arrest.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call City of Newburgh detectives at 845-561-7509.
