A Newburgh man was arrested in connection to an overnight string of crimes.
Town of Newburgh police say that witnesses saw the man going into cars and cutting through yards.
Officers responded to the area and spotted 31-year-old Edward Salle riding a bike near Vintage Emporium on Route 17K.
They say Salle took off and then ditched the bike and a large bag.
Police caught up with him and say he was the person behind several larcenies near Stewart Avenue.
Investigators believe most of the items in the bag Salle tossed - and the bike he was riding - were stolen late Monday night.
