298ds agoThe state is lifting curfews on a number of entertainment venues starting Monday.
The curfew will be lifted on casinos, bowling alleys, movie theaters, gyms, and pool halls. Venues will now have closing time extended from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., allowing more people to spend money. It also helps bring more people back to work.
Empire City Casino in Yonkers is set to resume regular hours Wednesday.
"To see them open and go to regular hours means that at least a good portion, if not all of those individuals, should come back to work soon," says Mayor Mike Spano.
While the curfew ends for some businesses, restaurants and bars are not included. Establishments inside the casinos must still close at 11 p.m.
