New York gives nursing home facilities green light to resume visits with restrictions

Nursing homes across the Hudson Valley will soon welcome visitors in for the first time in nearly a year.
The state issued guidelines Monday for visitations beginning as early as Friday.
Visitation is based on the positivity rate in the county where a facility is located.
Testing is not required for visitors of facilities in a county with a less than 5% positivity rate.
People will need a test within 72 hours of visiting a nursing home in a county with a positivity rate of 5 to 10%.
There is no visitation at any facility in a county with a positivity rate above 10%.
Facilities cannot let in more than 20% of the residential capacity and visits must be done in separate rooms.
Any visitor who has gotten both COVID-19 doses doesn't need a test as long as it's 14 days from the second dose and within 90 days of vaccination.
