A giant pop-up ice skating rink is now open through February 24 at Lincoln Park in New Rochelle.
Guests can skate for free each day while it's open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Rentals are provided at no charge.
The wintertime pop-up is a free relief for many adults at the park, like Mellisa Rosa, who say they're trying to keep their families entertained without breaking the bank.
"Sometimes, we are on a budget," Rosa said. "Just to socialize, in our community.... is like super great."
If skating isn't your thing, guests can also support locally-owned vendors and buy food from food trucks.
A winter carnival is also scheduled to take place at the park this Wednesday.
