A New Rochelle woman faces assault charges after an unleashed dog sparked an argument on a northern Westchester trail.

County police say a woman in her 50ss from Ridgefield, Connecticut was walking at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation in Pound Ridge Sunday afternoon.

When an unleashed dog ran up, she told the owners the dog needed to be on a leash. That started an argument.

Dawn Reich, 57, was charged with assault.

She's accused of hitting the victim in the head, causing a cut and knocking her down.

Her 66-year-old husband, Steven, was charged with criminal mischief.

He's accused of breaking the victim's cellphone by smashing it against a rock.

Two other park visitors gave the victim a phone so she could call 911.

She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital.

The Reichs were booked at County Police Headquarters and are due in Pound Ridge Town Court  Nov. 20.
