New Rochelle is planning to revitalize its downtown thanks to a new state grant.
The announcement was made at the Boys and Girls Club Remington Unit.
New Rochelle beat out more than two dozen other communities in the Mid-Hudson Region to snag the $10 million state grant.
"This is a validation of the hard work we've been doing in recent years to bring back our downtown, and also make sure that our downtown is connected in an intelligent way to neighborhoods," says New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson.
A part of the grant money will be used to transform the Boys and Girls Club and the Lincoln Avenue neighborhood surrounding it.
