Members of a New Rochelle temple held a virtual Shabbat Friday to address the antisemitic comments made by Whoopi Goldberg.
Temple Israel hosted members of the Jewish community as well as minister Mark McLean, who is president of the New Rochelle NAACP, to condemn antisemitism.
"It's timely and necessary for all of us as people of faith and people of good will to stand up and say that the evil of antisemitism and hate is unacceptable," says McLean. "It is repugnant and will not be tolerated in our community."
The temple also extended an invitation to Goldberg.
