A 130-year-old historic building in New Rochelle was recently demolished.
According to the city, the New Rochelle Rowing Club building at Hudson Park was so badly damaged by Hurricane Sandy that it had to be torn down.
Club members tried to stop the demolition, but the city deemed the building unsafe.
The wrecking company claims that the site will be an empty lot for now.
The clock tower cupola that sat on top of the building was saved by the City of New Rochelle.
