Officials from the City of New Rochelle and the Town of Greenburgh are working to ensure the safety of residents ahead of the expected rainstorm.

New Rochelle authorities say minor flooding may occur in vulnerable areas and to urge residents to take necessary action to protect flood-prone properties.

They also say residents that lose power should report it directly to Con Edison.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says the town is lifting a ban on overnight parking on residential streets from Sunday night into Monday morning.

Feiner said the temporary suspension of the ban is meant to reduce stress and give motorists who live on flood-prone streets an opportunity to park at higher elevations.
