New Rochelle police confirmed that officers were involved in a shooting Monday afternoon on Lincoln Avenue.
Police told News 12 that three officers responded in the area. They say one officer yelled “gun” and another officer shot the unnamed person.
Police say that person is still alive and is being treated at the Westchester Medical Center.
Police have not released any other information about the incident.
Police kept a section of the city barricaded for hours during the investigation. State police could also be seen taking photos of the crime scene in the aftermath. New Rochelle resident Kwamain Dixon told News 12 that the community wants to know details about what occurred. "As an advocate for this area and as a person running for city council, I felt it was my duty to come out and see what's going on,” said Dixon.
