A New Rochelle middle school hosted the fifth annual Special Olympics basketball tournament Saturday.

Teams from Yonkers, New Rochelle, Brewster and lower Westchester faced off in the tournament. Players say the teams have been practicing for months now, meeting once a week, in anticipation for the big day.

Coach Jack Riceman of the Southeast Consortium Hawks says it isn't always easy to organize these programs for special needs children, but that some people are willing to bend over backward to help them out.
