A New Rochelle man was arrested Saturday, accused of firing a handgun in a crowded parking lot.

Raymond Gikes, 37, was taken into custody following an investigation into a report of shots fired in the area of Main Street. Detectives determined that Gikes had fired the weapon at a large group of people gathered in the parking lot.

No injuries were reported. Police confiscated the handgun.

Gikes faces charges related to the incident, though the exact nature of the charges was not immediately available.
