Police announced the arrest Friday of a New Rochelle High School custodian in the slaying of a man who was gunned down in a Mount Vernon barbershop last month.
Duran Washington, 23, of New Rochelle, is accused in the murder of 25-year-old Coray Kidd. Kidd was shot three times on June 21 while he sat in a barber?s chair. Police said Washington was picked out in a lineup. He was arraigned Friday on a charge of second-degree murder.
Kidd?s father thanked the Mount Vernon Police Department for its countless hours in making an arrest in his son's murder. Police say an argument between the two men over a woman may be the motive for the shooting.
