Concerns over the coronavirus have some happy couples postponing or canceling their plans to have the party of a lifetime.
The Surf Club on the Sound in New Rochelle is nearing one of the busiest times of the year, but instead of business booming it's suffering one of its biggest hits.
"Normally in the week we will do 20 to 25 new clients," says general manager Sandro Carlacci. "This week it's not that much. I think we only have two or three appointments all weekend."
Carlacci says they are trying to keep the ballrooms rolling by moving forward with events that are still planned.
"It's your choice," says Carlacci. "We have a contract with you so we're obligated to be open and have an event with you until they tell us that we can't open."
Another business feeling the crunch is Alessia's Floral Decorators, which sits outside of New Rochelle's containment zone.
Eddie Loprete, owner of Alessia's Floral Decorators, says the last couple of days have been really slow.
Business owners are hopeful the rough time will pass and the happy occasions will return.
