Yoga, a practice dating back thousands of years to its origins in India, is being put to modern-day use at a new business venture in Port Chester, aiming to benefit expectant mothers.
Inspired by her personal experiences with pregnancy and childbirth, Marissa Goulbourne launched Prana Prenatal Yoga Studio on Irving Avenue. The studio will provide prenatal yoga classes, teaching women techniques that could aid during pregnancy and childbirth.
But the benefits extend beyond the physical. The new yoga studio also hopes to foster a sense of community and support among its clientele, an aspect Goulbourne views as essential during this special period in a woman's life.
Looking forward, Goulbourne also expressed her ambitions to expand her reach by opening another prenatal yoga studio in Northern Westchester in the future. The new location will provide even more women with access to the benefits of prenatal yoga and a supportive community during their pregnancy.
