While the daughter accused in the brutal murder of her mother appeared in Ossining Village Court Thursday, new details surfaced about the accused killer?s friend.
Police say 26-year-old Anne Trovato stabbed and beat her mother, 59-year-old Patricia Mery, to death in May. Investigators say the two were fighting about visitation of Trovato?s 3-year-old daughter. Trovato is charged with second-degree murder. Her case is scheduled to go in front of a grand jury in county court on August 28.
Meanwhile, police arrested Trovato?s friend, 30-year-old Carmela Magnetti for hindering prosecution. Police say Magnetti helped Trovato dispose of evidence in connection to the murder. She is facing felony charges and was released without bail.
