Clarkstown police say neighbors along Zabella Drive called for help around 9 p.m. after hearing screams outside.
Authorities say the couple, who has not yet been identified, were found on a neighboring lawn with knife wounds on their necks.
The couple was taken to Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
Neighbors say the couple has adult children who were not in the home when the incident occurred.
Police are calling this an isolated incident. It is not clear what prompted the violence or who stabbed who.
