Say goodbye to the 8-4-5.
A new area code is being proposed for the Mid-Hudson area because the 845 area code is running out.
In less than two years, you won't be able to get a number with that code, according to the North American Number Plan Administrator.
The 845 area code was created in June of 2000 for Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Rockland and Sullivan counties.
The new code is being developed now before it becomes a problem in 2024.
