The Nesconset teen accused of killing his ex-girlfriend last year has been deemed competent to stand trial by a judge on Thursday.

Austin Lynch is accused of fatally shooting 19-year-old Emily Finn, of Sayville, while she was home for Thanksgiving break and then turning the gun on himself in a botched attempted suicide.

Lynch has undergone numerous mental health examinations and was priorly found unfit to stand trial.

Then in March he was charged with conspiracy for allegedly planning to burglarize the Finn family home while behind bars and found fit to stand trial on that charge.

As previously reported, prosecutors say after their relationship ended Lynch started showing a pattern of controlling behaviors, including calling and texting Finn incessantly and threating to kill himself.

Prosecutors previously said Finn went to Lynch’s home on the morning of Nov. 26 hoping for closure after their recent breakup.

His next court date is Oct. 19.
