Neighbors say dim lighting may have contributed to the factors behind a fatal crash Thursday along a busy street in Rockland County.
News 12 reported that a car fatally struck Susanne Noel, 72, around 8:30 p.m. on West Eckerson Road between Route 45 and Hempstead Road in Hillcrest.
Gabby Agustin, of Spring Valley, says the lights in that area usually don’t work.
“They've done nothing to fix it over the past five years…When you're driving, it gets really scary," says Agustin.
News 12 reached out to the Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht about the dim street lights. He sent back a statement that said in part: "The Ramapo Police Department is conducting an active investigation into all factors that caused or contributed to the accident that resulted in the tragic death of a Hillcrest resident."
