Businesses along the Bronx River Road are stepping up to help their neighbors who were devastated by fire early this morning.
Although his business was unscathed by the fire, Burke's Restaurant and Bar owner Robert Kirby tells News 12 he's stepping up to help the dozens of families now homeless.

He says his team and other neighboring businesses are working with city officials and the Red Cross to collect donations.
"We're in the very, very early, early stages of planning. We're going to be doing some type of benefit here, a charity event, where people can come in, donate money, goods, whatever. We'll try to get a DJ in here and just kind of really, maybe, try to put a little light on this tragedy," says Kirby.
The list of needed items is still being drafted, but Kirby says his staff will post what items are needed on their
Facebook page.
