A woman has been arrested for allegedly leaving two dogs to die in her hot car, and police say they weren't her own dogs.
Nancy Evans, 67, of Warwick, was dog-sitting for a family's two elderly dogs when she left them in the car. One of the dogs was a Jack Russell-poodle mix named Cody.
The sitter apparently called the owner on the phone to apologize, saying she forgot about the animals after she got home.
Evans is facing animal cruelty charges.
