Museum of American Armor hosts D-Day essay contest

Today marks the 79th anniversary of D-Day.
On June 6, 1944, allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France to fight Nazi Germany.
Many point to D-Day as a turning point and the beginning of the end of World War II.
In honor of D-Day, Long Island college students will be putting their writing skills to the test.
The Museum of American Armor is hosting an essay contest challenging the students to submit an essay on the legacy of the historic invasion.
The winner will receive a trip to Normandy next year for the 80th anniversary.
