A new multipurpose building is coming to Port Chester in 2026.

The building, which is under construction, is located at the intersection of Pearl Street and Westchester Avenue in the Village of Port Chester.

The building will be located at 146 Westchester Ave., directly across from the Capitol Theatre.

It will also be the first 12-story building in the village, which is set to include 223 rental units, with 10% being allocated for affordable housing.

The rentals available will range from studios to two-bedroom apartment units.

Building amenities will include a gym, club room and rooftop deck.

On the ground floor, there will be space for retail businesses.

Port Chester Mayor Luis Marino was ecstatic about the new space, saying it is needed in the community.

"This is what it's all about, the Village of Port Chester wants to welcome everyone here. As you see, our village is changing in the right direction," said Mayor Marino.

The building's contemporary model includes eco-friendly components, which developers say will ensure for energy efficiency throughout the building.

"As we break ground, lets celebrate not only the construction of a new development," said Sean Gilbert, with Saxum Real Estate, "but the creation of new homes, new opportunities, and a stronger more connected Port Chester."

As of now, property developers have not confirmed what stores will occupy the available retail spaces.

The building is estimated to be completed by late 2026.
