It’s official. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority board overwhelmingly approved the controversial congestion pricing plan.

Tolls at 60th Street and below will charge cars $15 to enter Manhattan, which is expected to go into effect by mid-June. New Jersey officials promise to continue fighting the plan in the courts.

“They don’t care about firefighters, or cops, nurses or small business. They care about one thing: getting cash into their pockets. So, they looked around, and they’re sticking it to hard working families who have to commute,” Rep. Josh Gottheimer said.

News 12’s Tony Caputo is outside the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City this morning with the latest information.
