Police have arrested a man in a deadly shooting that happened on South First Avenue in Mount Vernon Saturday night.
The suspect, 40-year-old Shand Nash, was taken into police custody Thursday night outside the Oasis Motel in the Bronx, where he was living with his girlfriend.
On Friday, Nash was arraigned and charged with the murder of 31-year-old Horatio Farquaharsen, a father of two.
According to investigators, Nash shot Farquaharsen in the neck on July 19. The homicide allegedly resulted from an ongoing dispute between the two men, and sources say it may have been related to drugs.
During the arrest, detectives say they recovered a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun in the suspect?s hotel room, which is believed to be the murder weapon.
