Voters hit the polls across the Hudson Valley on Tuesday.
In Mount Vernon, voters approved an $108 million school bond issue. The money will be used to upgrade and repair all of the district's 16 schools.
Also, people in villages throughout the region elected mayors and trustees, and in some cases, village justices.
The majority of races were uncontested.
Many of the new programs and repairs will be phased in over years, but repairs to schools with badly damaged fields could start as soon as this summer.
