The City of Mount Vernon is helping local businesses as they open back up.
Reopening means many new protocols at salons and barbershops, including Plexiglas dividers, mask requirements and temperature checks.
City officials have formed what they are calling a "reopening task force."
The team, made up of building inspectors, city officials and members of the fire department, are going door to door to ensure businesses are compliant with the state's Phase 2 safety protocols.
City officials say the goal of their outreach is to answer questions business owners may have while ensuring customers have the confidence to go out safely.
Once the business follows the protocol, it will get a sign that says "Rebounded Resillient" as the city's way of letting customers know that business has taken all necessary precautions.
