Police in Mount Vernon intercepted almost 170 pounds of marijuana being delivered by truck to a plumbing company Monday.
White Plains police received a tip last month that a large shipment of pot was headed to Mount Vernon. According to police, a delivery truck from Newburgh dropped off the shipment at a plumbing company on East Third Street without the company?s knowledge. Police closed in when three people came for the drugs and started loading the cargo into a van.
The three people were arrested and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana. Investigators say the truck company and plumbing company were not involved in the deal.
