The Mount Vernon Police Department has announced the passing of two individuals: former police Commissioner Glenn Scott and current Officer Murashea "Mike" Bovell.

Glenn Scott retired from the department in May 2023 after serving as commissioner for three years.

Officer Murashea "Mike" Bovell was a whistleblower who exposed corruption within the department, leading to the district attorney seeking to vacate convictions and charges for 27 individuals involved in a 2017 undercover narcotics operation.
