Case against Mount Vernon mayor may head to court in January
The case against the mayor of Mount Vernon could be heading to trial in January.
Mayor Richard Thomas faced a judge Friday. Thomas is charged with grand larceny and making false statements.
The embattled mayor is accused of using campaign funds for personal expenses, including car payments, rent and insurance, and never disclosing it.
Thomas denies the allegations.
The mayor is due back in court Oct. 12.
