Police have arrested a Mount Vernon man for DWI after an accident on the New York State Thruway Monday.
Police say Dion Smith, 27, was driving drunk when he crashed his SUV at around 5:30 a.m. near exit 4 on the Thruway. Two lanes were shut down for hours while emergency crews cleared the scene.
A passenger in the SUV was taken to Westchester Medical Center with cuts to her head and a possible concussion. Smith was taken to state police barracks in Tarrytown for questioning.
