Hundreds of people said goodbye today to a Mount Vernon pastor who served the community for more than four decades.
A service was held for Pastor Richard Dixon at Macedonia Baptist Church on Ninth Avenue, the same church where he led his congregation for 41 years before retiring.
The 91-year-old died last weekend.
Dixon started programs for the young and old, and was active in many local organizations. He also expanded his church, and built a larger facility to meet the growing congregation.
