In preparation for reopening, a Mount Vernon business is helping other businesses refit office space to keep employees safe.
The coronavirus pandemic is proving to be very beneficial for The Mount Vernon-based DGC Capital Contracting Corporation, which has been installing Plexiglas sneeze guards throughout the northeast.
The increased demand is coming from department stores, pharmacies, sports arenas and supermarkets, including a Stop and Shop in Yonkers.
"When this all happened, many supermarkets changed what they're doing in their stores.  They started putting up Plexiglas, which you'll notice all over Westchester and the tri-state area," says Giancarlo Lanzano, the vice president of DGC Capital Contracting Corporation.
Lanzano says the clear, but sturdy partitions will likely be permanent, even after quarantine conditions are lifted. He says that his company is ready to fill a growing need.
"In the future, you'll have Fiberglas in places you'd never thought you'd have it," says Lanzano.
