From jewelry to sports memorabilia, Mount Pleasant police are sifting through piles of stolen items they say were recovered from a burglary suspect Friday.
Police officials are trying to build a case against George Sayegh, who they say has burglarized dozens of homes in Mount Pleasant. Authorities say anyone who makes a legitimate claim on their stolen property can get it back and help them put the alleged burglar in prison.
"Until a victim says, 'That's definitely mine,' we will not be able to determine if it's a stolen item," says Louis Alagano, chief of the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
Sayegh was arrested Friday after a police chase that ended when he crashed into a police car in Port Chester. Police say they found the stolen items when they searched his Valhalla home.
