Police say a car crashed into a tree on the north side of East Market Street early Saturday morning. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Poughkeepsie, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was sent to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition. A third was being treated for injuries.
One person is recovering from a head-on jet ski crash that happened at Kingston Point Beach in the City of Kingston. Police say the victim had already been pulled out of the water by the time they arrived. The victim suffered a critical head injury and a helicopter was dispatched to Westchester Medical Center.
Village of Montgomery police say they are actively investigating reports of thefts of small items like money and credit cards from unlocked vehicles. They are asking residents to check their cameras between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. and report all incidents, no matter how small, to the police.
