Thousands of
people have already come to the polling locations in Dutchess County to cast
their ballots in this year’s elections.
Board of
Elections officials have announced that more than 5,000 people came out to vote
early over the weekend into Monday.
Long lines could
be seen at Fishkill town hall where residents brought umbrellas and chairs to
make waiting more comfortable.
"I just
think it’s really important to do it because this is my future and I just
think I should be a part of it. And this is such a monumental moment so I
definitely want to do my part," says Mackenzie Boric, first time voter
from Fishkill.
This is the
first time New Yorkers can vote early during a presidential election.
