More than 1,000 pothole complaints filed in the Bronx over the last three months

Off of Exit 2A on the Cross Bronx Expressway, drivers are met with their cars sinking into a pothole.
According to NYC Open Data, 1,259 pothole complaints were filed in the Bronx over the last three months.
News 12 cameras captured several cars being met with the impact of their tires and bumpers hitting the gaping holes on Jerome Avenue and East Mount Eden Avenue.
"It's been like that now for about 3 or 4 weeks at least. It's getting worse and worse," said one community neighbor, Pastor Jay Gooding.
Some drivers were forced to get out of their cars to check for any damages.
"I made a police report, but nothing was fixed," said one driver, Jeral.
Drivers are not the only ones frustrated by the rough roads. Neighbors say they have contacted Council Member Althea Stevens about the issue.
In a statement, Stevens shared with News 12, “My office has been made aware of the pothole on the 2A Exit of the Cross Bronx Expressway on Jerome Avenue by News 12 the Bronx. We are in the process of sharing the concern with the Department of Transportation to rectify it as soon as possible. The safety of drivers and residents in our community remains a top priority, and we will continue working with city agencies to ensure our concerns are resolved promptly.”
Complaints can be reported to 311 and according to their website, the Department of Transportation will fill most potholes in 15 days.
