An Orange County man, Tyler Regan, 25, from Monroe, has been sentenced to three-and-a-half to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to arson.
The incident took place on July 20, 2024 when Regan drove to a home, punctured the tires of a truck parked in the driveway, and then left only to return later. Confronted by a resident, Regan attempted to hit him with his vehicle. He then got out, doused the truck with gasoline, set it on fire, and drove away.
Police and the fire department quickly responded, extinguishing the fire. Regan returned to the scene but fled again, leading to a brief police chase. He was eventually arrested and later caused damage to property at the police department.
