A Hudson Valley mother is upset over how her son's school district handled a threat allegedly made to him.
Trevon Cassone, a second-grader at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School in Mohegan Lake, says he was eating lunch at school on April 1 when another student threatened him.
Trevon's mother, Kristin Cassone, says she plans on transferring him to a new school. She claims officials did nothing because they determined it was just an April Fools' joke.
She says it's altered his ability to learn in his classroom.

"During his exam today, he started crying as we discussed his school situation,” says Kristin Cassone.
She has a letter that is written and signed by his pediatrician. It says that the doctor recommends Trevon be placed in a different school with all services included.

Kristin Cassone tells News 12 that despite handing the letter into the school, the boys were kept in the same classroom, and nothing was done to ease Trevon.
The Lakeland Central School District tells News 12 after investigating the incident, school officials took disciplinary action and that the boys were all happy with the outcome.
Shortly after the incident, Kristin Cassone says she decided to keep Trevon out of school until something is done.
