The mobile testing site for coronavirus at Glen Island Park is helping New York track local cases, and it helped one woman’s weeklong attempt to get checked.
Paula Payson is a teacher at Alef Bet Preschool in New Rochelle, which has been closed since March 2.
She says one of her students tested positive for the coronavirus, and she was put on a waiting list to get tested a week ago.
Payson says she has been in quarantine for over a week with multiple symptoms of the virus.
Fewer people were coming out to get tested on Sunday at the New Rochelle testing site, and she was allowed to go through without an appointment.
“I’ve been waiting so long. My school is in New Rochelle. I should have been tested. I should've been tested right away,” she said.
The drive-through lab is testing around 200 people per day, but the governor hopes that number goes up to 500 this week.
