Missing boater from Rockland identified

Rafael Lemus was one of five people on a boat that sank in the waters of the Long Island Sound near Cockenoe Island last month.

Connecticut police have identified a missing boater from Rockland County as they continue their search.

They have identified the missing individual as 34-year-old Rafael Lemus, from Suffern.

He was one of five people on a boat that sank in the waters of the Long Island Sound near Cockenoe Island last month.

While three individuals were rescued by a group of boaters, Lemus and another man were unaccounted for.

The remains of Juan Gabriel Valle Pineda, from Spring Valley, were discovered about 3 miles northeast of the sunken boat.
