Mimi Rocah took the oath of office to become Westchester's new district attorney Monday.
The virtual swearing in took place at the Westchester County courthouse in White Plains at 11 a.m.
Rocah is a former federal prosecutor who's taking the seat after DA Anthony Scarpino, who she beat out in the Democratic primary last year. Her Republican counterpart dropped out of the race a few months later.
Rocah says she plans to address strained relationships between police and the community as well as racism and gun violence in Westchester.
She will also face backlogged courts after they were shut down due to the virus. The inauguration ceremony was livestreamed on the official Westchester DA  Facebook page.
