Fair skies continue to be found across the Hudson Valley overnight and Tuesday.

Overnight, the winds continue to back down and there will be a touch of a chill in the air.

Some spots closer to the Catskills could see their Tuesday morning lows go down into the low 40s. The average low this time of year is 51 degrees. Through Tuesday, sunny skies will slowly be covered up by cloud cover as a storm system moves this way. Thankfully, the rain does not arrive just yet. But as a result of the clouds and a cool northerly breeze, temperatures will trend a little cooler Tuesday compared to Monday.

Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, rain showers move in. Expect scattered showers at first through the first half of the day, with on-and-off downpours for the second half of the day. Winds will start to pick up as well as the system moves towards the north and east.

Thursday is sadly a crummy day. Keep the rain jacket handy, I'd keep the umbrella inside, with wind coming around all day along with the rain. Rain fall totals could range around 1-2 inches before the system is finally out of here.

It will pull away from the area Thursday night into Friday, but spotty shower chances will linger for the day on Friday and even into Saturday. It is not enough to cancel any plans over but expect just overall not ideal conditions for any outdoor plans Saturday.

This weekend is the "unofficial start of summer," with Memorial Day coming on Monday and a lot of events, parades and festivals will be occurring.

The weather is improving through the holiday weekend, with Saturday having a small shower chance and then drier conditions move in for the hours and days to follow into Memorial Day itself.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a small shower chance. Highs: Upper 50s to low 60s. Lows: Upper 40s.
