A person was fatally struck by a train on the tracks near the Valhalla station Friday afternoon.
Metro-North tweeted about the incident, saying that one person was struck by a train and that there were delays on the Harlem line. An MTA spokesperson has confirmed that the incident was fatal.
One woman tells News 12 that she was on the train involved. She says she was on the 3:06 p.m. train from Chappaqua heading toward Manhattan. When the train came to a stop, she says, she did not notice anything unusual; but the conductor announced there was a medical condition and asked everyone to get off the train.
The woman says she saw the conductor, who seemed visibly shaken, as she got off the train.
