Metro-North has unveiled its inaugural transit-oriented housing development in Westchester County.
Avalon Harrison offers over 140 affordable housing units, conveniently connected to shops at the Harrison Metro-North Station.
Gov. Kathy Hochul emphasized the initiative's aim to retain young individuals and first-time homebuyers who grew up in Westchester County.
"Creating exactly what we're looking for. What we've talked about all along, and our housing plan is to connect people to the transportation to their jobs and it's happening right here in Harrison,” says Hochul.
The project is aligned with the goal of connecting residents to transportation options for their workplaces while promoting downtown revitalization, environmental improvements, and healthier lifestyles.
